Dalina. by Camille Puche

For someone who lives all the way from Richmond, discovering cafes in Vancouver is like when a kid walks into a candy store… that’s me.

For the past couple of weeks, I have been commuting from work to my dance training every Mondays. I’ve been passing by this cafe at the wrong time so I always missed their opening hours. Two Mondays ago, I was way too early for my training and I was able to get there 30mins before their closing. Thought it was just about enough time to order, sit and enjoy the sun, ambiance and their food.

The cafe was very inviting. Seats are comfy, interior and colour palettes were on point! This location is much more intimate and relaxing which I prefer.
It must be because it is more like a cafe than a cafe and grocery store located in Main Street.

Initially, I ordered their pistachio cannoli and london fog latte. However, since the cream in the cannoli wasn’t as filling, they gave it to me for me. But since because I already paid, I asked if they can just give me a slice of their lemon poppy seed bread instead of my money back. They said yes and I am so glad I was able to try! Honestly, I liked it more than the cannoli. Mmm, the flavour was just right - sourysweet!

I am definitely adding this place in my cafe list!

The Garden. by Camille Puche

Been itching to check out The Garden Strathcona and finally yesterday was the day! The cafe welcomed us with their huge glass doors with the reflections of the plants from the inside. It’s spacious, cozy and has a rustic-garden vibe which instantly, I felt so homey and relaxed. We got there at 11am on a Saturday and lucky enough it wasn’t that busy. Ordered their mushroom + cheese for my savory toast and matched it with their matcha latte with oatmilk. Oh so good!
